If you didn't know, I didn't like 2017 a whole lot.
There was just a lot of stress given to me personally, emotionally, and physically. Stress came from family, health, and personal reasons. I'd go blah blah more about it, but F*** all that, lets talk about ART from 2017!
Personal Favorite Pic of the year:
This was a very tough decision:
I am STILL unsatisfied with this piece. I feel it's unfinished and many needs to be fixed, BUT I will call it a personal favorite of the year since it's a reminder of my artistic progress. I've been very negative about artistic self in recent days but when I look at this piece and compare it to the old one (done in 2013), I'm able to see how much I've improved. Most of the things I felt missing back then are done here. That makes me happy! However I STILL need to fix things on this piece so I'm not as happy... (SHADDUP BE HAPPY)
Stuff I feel I've improved the most:
I could say anatomy, but I'd say NUDES and LEWDS! This year I've drawn way more naked and naughtier ladies than ever. I drew them better, bigger, and sexier than before! The thing that sucked is that I didn't color any of them. IDK why I didn't but I REALLY SHOULD this year.
And if you want to see more of them (along with other goodies), you can always support me on my Patreon (*cough* shameless promotion *cough*)
Stuff I feel like I need more work on:
-Coloring (as always)
As much as many of you like my coloring, I've never been a fan of how I color things. I take a long time just to figure out what colors to use and then it frustrates me. And then I can't figure out what colors to put for the background.
I'm slightly getting better with shading and lighting, but it's still not really improving IMO. Putting light on forms is pretty tough.
Yes my attitude towards my art. I used to be carefree, but I am constantly overthinking about things these days. If I wasn't so critical I'd have more finished pieces.
Art I Liked Most: TITLE CARDS!!
Man this year Brandon was on a roll with great reviews and I did A LOT of title cards. I guess one of the reasons why I like doing cards is because I'm much more carefree with them. I need to do that more with other pieces -_-
Due to a stressful year, humor was hard to find which was why there was a decline in comics. What's also sad is that I realized most 2017 comics barely have other characters included . Well I guess introduction of Timbo's muse is a good thing..
Overall thoughts on Personal Progress:
I feel that I didn't progress a lot this year. I just don't feel like nothing really "changed" or "improved" much from last year. I guess you can say I'm a bit disappointed in my personal progress. If anything, I think it's time to look for some real changes so I won't be artistically bored.
All in all, I want 2018 to be WAY better than 2017. So LET'S GOOOoooo!
